Artist

With lifelong interest in graphic and fine arts, I now blend my other fascinations -- fabric arts, gardening, and natural sciences -- into the artworks I create.

I volunteer as a Minnesota Master Naturalist. Studying the beauty and complexity of plants and creatures intensifies my admiration for the natural world.  I find the entire process of making botanical art a captivating preoccupation.

I grew up in Minnesota and studied advertising art before pursuing my careers in advertising and graphic design, print production management, and writing for business communications.  My interest in technology led me to help create and launch an Internet-based business consulting company.  Through several career relocations, I planted and tended backyard gardens in each new home.  Now back in Minnesota, I am revisiting my curiosity in art by drawing and painting botanical subjects.  A workshop series on contemporary botanical art at the Minnesota Arboretum in 2009 captivated me.  Since then, I have studied at the Minnesota School of Botanical Art and at the Bloomington Art Center.  As a student, I've exhibited at the Minnesota Arboretum, the Bloomington Art Center, the Minnesota School of Botanical Art, the Bakken Museum, in ASBA Great River Chapter exhibits, and in ASBA Small Works exhibit 2011. See more in my ASBA member gallery.
